Lawmaker questions feasibility of Kulim airport

GEORGE TOWN: The proposed Kulim airport in Kedah sparked off an exchange between state lawmakers and opposition representatives when Wong Hon Wai (DAP - Air Itam) said the facility was not feasible at an estimated cost of RM3.9billion.
He said Penang had instead asked for RM600 million to expand the current Penang International Airport (PIA) to include two runways, an integrated air cargo facility and a MRO (maintenance, repair, overhaul) hub.
"Expanding the PIA would be more cost effective," he said when debating the Penang Budget 2015 in the state assembly today.
State legislature opposition leader Datuk Jahara Hamid (BN - Teluk Air Tawar) then defended the project saying competition was healthy.
She said there should not be any worry to the proposal as Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng, in tabling the state budget last week, had expected more tourists to visit Penang in 2015.
Jahara said this showed that the state should face no issues if it kept on improving itself to be attractive.
Deputy Chief Minister II P. Ramsamy and R.S.N Rayer (DAP - Seri Delima) had also earlier backed Wong in wanting the PIA to be expanded.

So, Penang's representatives instead of fighting for PIA, some of them are fighting among themselves ?
Fighting for who should be the CM and who should be responsible for Botak Hills and reclamations ?
Now, lets count how many of you are longing to be in the limelight !
